Registration is now open for the 1st edition of the awards that celebrate the best in Furniture Design.

SIT Furniture Design Award™ exists to recognize, celebrate, and promote brilliant international Furniture Designers, Brands, Manufacturers, Emerging talents as well as Visionaries enhancing our daily life with innovation. SIT focuses on “Seat and Beyond”, rewarding strategic thinking and imagination which goes into making great equipment.

The prize is open to submissions on a global level, accepting entries from Designers and Emerging Talent from all around the world.

SIT Furniture Design Award has created a digital “Innovation Center” focusing every year on 3 topics to highlight invention, look at today’s challenges, and how to overcome them. The winner of the “Innovation Center” will receive a cash prize to realize a prototype or start the production.

Winners are selected by our esteemed jury of creative minds and leaders in the Industrial Designers world. They will receive the SIT trophy, a Digital brochure feathering their entry, be invited to the Bi-Annual winner reception as well as extensive publicity exposing their designs to a worldwide audience…

Designers, Manufacturers and Brands can submit an unlimited number of furniture concepts pertaining to various categories, from seat to tables, from lighting to office desks. While the “Design with furniture” section included living room design to bedroom design, from commercial design to landscape design.

The deadline for participation is set for December 5th, 2020, and another 10 days extension will be given for late submission.

Winners will be announced in February 2021!

SIT digital ” Innovation Center” – Start making a difference now!

SIT Furniture Design Award has created a “Digital Innovation Center”, to be a unique blend of design and creativity thinking, Computational thinking, culture integrator, and sustainability’s maker.

The center is focusing every year on 3 topics to highlight inventions, look at today’s challenges, and how to overcome them. The yearly winner of the “Digital Innovation Center” professional or student will receive a grant of US$4000 to realize a prototype or start the production.

For its inaugural launch, the digital innovation center will focus on:

• Home office furniture: Combine living and working: While home-office is becoming the norm in some industries; SIT encourages designers to rethink the “Homeworking experience”. How to be more user-centric? How to integrate the home office in a limited personal space? Imagine the Seat & Desk of tomorrow? What are the new needs? … etc…

• Technology integration: upgrade your furniture: What is the next technology integration in furniture design? Today’s integration of the “Internet of Things (IoT)” concept and services are growing exponentially. Let’s imagine, build, scale new innovative furniture’s and experiences improving our daily life.

• Reuse and/or Recycle: give a second life: Recycle and reuse are the most effective ways to save natural resources, protect the environment, and save money. This theme has been created to present furniture helping sustain the environment for future generations. Envision a second life to materials/ furniture or allows the equipment to be used to their fullest extent.

SIT Furniture Design Award Jury panel will look deeply at the process to create the successful product/furniture that resonates with today’s users. It must be technologically feasible and successfully applicable to solve all kinds of innovation challenges and problems.
