The concept was to design a decorative table lamp and vanity mirror - The main objective was to create a sculptural object that is elegant and timeless in its forms. The design was to be intuitive in its functions, and its construction simple but sturdy, with a good quality LED light source well concealed to provide a glare free soft ambient lit effect or task lighting.

With predominantly the residential and perhaps boutique hotel market in mind, the design had to work equally well as a bedside lamp, study light, for reading by the couch or for pure ambience on the side.
Although the mirror element lies very much at its origin, the concept was not to create a vanity mirror that doubles up as a lamp, it was much rather to create one elegant object, that fulfills both roles well, and provides one less item on one’s desk.

The base, CNC machined from a single piece of aluminum, has a circular slot cut-out on the tip for the mirrored light panel to directly slot into via a magnetic joint mechanism that provide a simple yet sturdy adjustability. Complete with integral touch dimmer switch, in a black gloss paint finish, a 2700K/ 90+ High CRI LED light source, at a height of 275mm.
