Daisuke Nagatomo is a Japan-born designer and educator whose work spans architecture, product design, and sustainable fabrication. He has received multiple international recognitions, including Design of the Year from the A’Design Award, Best of Golden Pin (Taiwan), and Perspective Magazine’s 40 Under 40 (Hong Kong). Nagatomo graduated from Meiji University in Tokyo and later pursued his passion for architecture at Columbia University, earning a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design.
He began his professional career in the New York metropolitan area, working with firms such as TEN Arquitectos and the Design Office for Research and Architecture. From 2009 to 2010, he was an invited researcher for the FabLab House Project at IaaC in Barcelona, where he also completed a research diploma. In 2014, he co-founded MisoSoupDesign, a Taipei-based studio, with Minnie Jan.
Nagatomo is currently an Associate Professor at National Taiwan Normal University and has taught at institutions including Pratt Institute, Tokyo Denki University, Chung Yuan Christian University, and National Chiao Tung University. He has also served as a juror for international awards such as the Taipei Design Award, Golden Pin, A’Design Award, and the International Awards Associate.
